Activities, Outreach & Service at St. Mark’s

Faith in action. Community in Christ. Service with love.
Discover how our parish family lives out God’s call through worship and compassionate service.

At St. Mark’s, ministry is how we live out our baptismal covenant: by worshiping God, learning together, caring for one another, and service our wider community. Whether you are new to the Episcopal Church or a lifelong member, there is a place for you here to grow and belong.

Fellowship and Community Life

We find joy in simply being together. From our annual Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner (supporting Habitat for Humanity) to Cursillo small groups, Fitness for Life classes, and parish socials, fellowship is at the heart of our parish life. At St. Mark’s, laughter, conversation, and shared meals remind us that the church is not just a building, it’s a family.

Pastoral Care and Support

St. Mark’s extends Christ’s compassion through ministries of care, prayer, and support. In addition, our clergy and lay ministers are available for pastoral visits, anointing, or simply a listening ear during times of need.

Outreach and Service

We believe faith takes shape through service. St. Mark’s partners with organizations that bring hope and healing to our community and beyond, including:

  • Autauga Interfaith Care Center (AICC). The local food bank supported by city and county churches
  • One Community Outreach United. A local non-profit providing tutoring services in the halls of St. Mark’s, as well as other partnership projects though the year, like a Community Health Fair and medication counseling session, and backpack giveaway to kick-off the start of school
  • One Place Family Justice Center. We encourage victims of abuse and neglect to seek help at “One Place” where they have access to all the resources the need under one roof.
  • Episcopal Relief and Development. We support this international relief and development agency of the Episcopal Church.
  • Food for the Poor. We support this non-profit that funs projects to help the poor.
  • Our companion Diocese of Honduras, through prayer and partnership.

Through outreach, we share Christ’s love in tangible ways: feeding, comforting, and standing beside those in need.

Music Ministry

Music at St. Mark’s brings our worship to life. Under the direction of Yuliya Childers, our choirs and musicians lift hearts and voices in praise, blending the beauty of traditional Anglican hymnody with global expressions of faith. St. Mark’s hosts an annual Musical Offering recital, bringing together talented and world-class musicians from Prattville and the surrounding region. Please join us!

Get Involved

Whether your gifts lie in teaching, music, hospitality, service, or prayer, there’s a place for you at St. Mark’s.
To learn more about our ministries or to get involved, please contact the church office or speak with a member of our clergy or vestry.
